My child clicked a link or shared a password
It happens to grown-ups too. Stay calm: how you react decides whether they'll tell you next time.
- Thank them for telling you. Make it clear they're not in trouble.
- Change the password for that account on the real app or website (not from the link), and anywhere else it was used.
- Turn on two-step login for the account if it offers it.
- If they typed bank or card details, call your bank on the number on the back of the card.
- Report the message or player in the app or game, then block them.
- Watch the episode together and talk about the clue that gave it away.
